The Hook: Booze in the blender - Jimmy Buffett rocks Charlottesville

"The ginormous parking lots around the Arena were plastered with a special brand of tailgaters: guys in hula skirts and coconut bras, girls with shark pasties. Many sporting parrot, crab, and shark hats and some in shark and pirate costumes, all downing flagons of Caribbean-pastel margaritas mixed to the tunes of Jimmy and whining 12-volt blenders."
Good write-up of the Buffett show in Cville:

CNN: America's cool college towns

"The music scene was fertile here B.D.M.B -- that is, before the Dave Matthews Band, which formed in Charlottesville in the early 1990s."

Our new guy: Tom Scott (Director Interactive Media)

One of the “new” arrivals to Monticello Media, Tom is a 28 year radio vet with extensive background as an Operations Manager, Program Director, Promotions Director, News Director, and announcer, as well as having Non-Traditional Revenue and Sales experience.
“All of my previous experience has prepared me to incorporate all parts of our business into the 6 Monticello Media station websites. I work everyday with programming, promotions and sales to assure that what we have on the air is reflected in our on-line products, while creating opportunities for our clients to use our digital platform to reach potential customers.”
In addition to his work on the Monticello Media websites, Tom can be heard weekday mornings from 6-9am on TOM @ 107.5.
Born in northeastern PA, Tom spent his entire career circling central PA, most of that time in the home of Little League Baseball, Williamsport, PA, before heading south in July. “This part of Virginia is beautiful…We’ve traveled through the Charlottesville area before, and the opportunities for our family are too good to pass up!”
He loves music, history, travel and antiques and is doing everything he can to enjoy all of the local experiences that include those pastimes. Tom, his wife and 2 of their 6 children make their new home in Greene County, and look forward to the Fall season with its beautiful colors along the Blue Ridge.
