Welcome Jay Lopez!

We're thrilled to welcome Jay Lopez to the Monticello Media family. Hitkicker 99.7 afternoon personality, Jay Lopez, is well known in Charlottesville. He's been on the air in Central Virginia for 23 years.

Jay is heavily involved in the community helping raise funds for the UVA Breast Care Center, UVA Children's Hospital, Virginia Blood Services and Martha Jefferson Hospital's Cancer Resource Center. Jay also developed a program to recognize the efforts of local teachers, too. Jay is the voice of Crutchfield, a nationally recognized electronics dealer, and had worked with ACAC and Brown Auto...you've probably heard the commericals.

Jay has won several awards from the Virginia Association of Broadcasters including "Commercial of the Year" and "Radio Promotional Campaign of the Year". Jay is married to Carlee and they have a son, Tommy and daughter Annie.

Send an email to Jay: jlopez@cvillestations.com

Welcome Wanda Birckhead Farrar to the Monticello Media family

Welcome Wanda Birckhead Farrar! Wanda comes to us with over 25 years of sales and management experience in newspapers, cable television and radio. She is happy to be back at the same desk she had when she last worked for these terrific stations.

"I heard Chiumento was putting the band back together and I wanted to be a part of it," Wanda says. She will be actively developing business through sales efforts and community involvement. A native of Charlottesville, Wanda is married to Sandy and has a daughter, Jordan, son-in-law, Matt, and light of her life grand-daughter, Ivy. She is a collector of vintage Christmas decorations.

Inc. magazine's business plan presentation

If you are working on a business plan, Inc. magazine has a good resource: Business Plan Presentation. It is a basic PowerPoint template which may serve you well as a starting point for your presentation. At worst, it would serve as an antidote for writer's block.

Have your tried mind mapping? (Article from Inc. magazine)

Here is a good article for small business owners from Inc. magazine on mind mapping. I have found the concept to be very useful for project management; there are a lot of ways for entrepreneurs to put it to effective use.

I use software from Mindjet (MindManager) and can recommend it highly. For project management, ResultsManager is a great add-in.
